Expressive Arts
At Riverside School we have a specialism in and passion for Expressive Arts. We know that Expressive Arts can build our pupils’ confidence, social skills and provides them with enriching experiences, which will last a lifetime. We have seen so many of our pupils shine on stage; embrace the experience; absorb the atmosphere and flourish through both the rehearsal process and the performance itself.
We work on a number of different projects across the school year, with many of them culminating in termly/half termly performances. We also run many integrated projects, during which our pupils have the opportunity to work alongside mainstream pupils, enjoying creative and engaging activities and irresistible learning opportunities. We have developed family projects, inviting our families to perform alongside their children; projects specifically designed for certain cohorts of pupils and projects created to bring the whole school together, to ensure that our provision is truly inclusive.
Our state of the art Expressive Arts facilities, give us the perfect environment to allow our pupils to build their creativity, confidence and performance skills. We have a dedicated team of industry professionals specialising in Dance, Drama and Music working permanently within the school. To support provision and give our pupils the best opportunities possible, we also commission many visiting artist to come to Riverside School. We seize the opportunity to get our pupils performing all over London, to date we have performed at Her Majesty's Theatre (in the West End), Richmix Theatre (East London) and Trinity Laban Centre (South-West London), to name just a few.
